To impart education and training of national standard and keep striving towards excellence to reach our ultimate goal of meeting international standard in English Studies.

Syllabus:
Core Courses: Paper I: Research Methodology, and Paper II: Contemporary Literary Criticism and Theories. Elective Courses: Paper IIIA: Drama or Paper IIIB: Applied Linguistics. Owing to shortage of faculty recognised to guide research leading to MPhil and PhD at present, we have had to restrict the number of electives from six to two. Students need to write a Dissertation of 10,000 words in lieu of Paper IV on a subject related to any of the elective areas in consultation with the faculty, depending upon the faculty's research interests at any given point of time.
