M.Phil:Sanskrit

The Kuvempu University offers M.Phil:Sanskrit course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

Departmental Trust Areas of Research
Litrary criticism, Ancient Science and technology, Ancient Jurisprudence, Ecological studies in Ancient Sanskrit literature, etc.

The Dept. of Sanskrit was started in the academic year 1993-94.Dr.B.S. Mahadevaiah has been working as Chairman of the Dept., Since the establishment of the Dept. Teaching, Research and Literary activities have been continuously organized from time to time. Dr.B.S.Mahadevaiah has successfully guided 09 Ph.D students and at present four students have been working under his guidance for doctoral degree.M.Phil programme was also started from the academic year 2006-07. With the collaboration of Sanskrita Bharati established at Bangalore, which is working for the promoting and propagating of Sanskrit, every year state level elocution competition and Sanskrit speaking courses are organized. The Dept. has established an excellent rapport with Sanskrit scholars of the two Sanskrit villages viz, Mattur and Hosahalli
