In tune with latest changes and requirements a P.G course M.Sc (oils & fats) affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University of existing B.Sc(Tech) oil tech course have been introduced in 2000-’01.

The Department of Oils & Fats offers this course. Chirala which is located 3k.m away from Bay of Bengal and is one of the important tourist places in prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. A Large number of oil and allied industrial units have been setup in and around chirala of which the worth mentioning is CAPOL. These units are working as there has been greater potentiality for the produce of cotton in this area. These companies necessarily require the service of oil technologist / chemists to operate the units particularly the oils and fats industries. The need for trained and skilled oil technologists and chemists is found imminent.
