The M.Sc. (Physics) programme was started in 1985 with specializations in Materials Science (1986), Laser Spectroscopy and Theoretical Physics (1995)

Mechanics, Electromagnetic Theory, Nuclear Physics, Elementary Spectroscopy, Elementary Sold State Physics,

Mathematical Physics, Advanced Electronics.

The department continuously revises its syllabi; introduce new experiments at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It has also received a UGC project on superconductivity. The Faculty members have participated in about fifty national / international workshops and conferences including more than than twenty-five academic visits abroad.
