Rural development and Agricultural Production was started in 2002 with an initial intake of ten students from science background. The present level of intake in the department is 20. Being multidisciplinary in nature the department undertakes both teaching and research in the areas concerning rural development, agronomy, horticulture and animal science. The department provides both theoretical and practical exposure to M. Sc (RDAP) students in various areas relating to the multidisciplinary P.G. programme within the stipulated time. In addition to this, the department has organized various seminars, workshops, talks, demonstrations, consultancy and evaluation services for promoting entrepreneurship in the fields of dairy, poultry, piggery, fishery, vermin-compost, floriculture, mushroom cultivation, etc.
