Course programme

Beginning from the academic year 2003 – 04, MVJ College of Engineering has introduced a new Post Graduate Programme in Aeronautical Engineering affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, India and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi . The Programme is of two years duration spread over four semesters. The programme will focus on six core subjects and four electives. The electives have been selected to complement and enhance the students’ knowledge in Aerodynamics and Flight testing, Structures and Design, Propulsion and Systems and Manufacturing.


In addition to the core and elective subjects, the program places great emphasis on seminars, industrial training and detailed project work carried out in three phases after the completion of the second semester, which could be carried out in various aerospace organizations improving the career prospects of students.

Application areas as required by the Aerospace Industries and R & D Organizations are given due importance and Industry – Institute Interaction is actively encouraged.

ighly qualified and competent team with Ph D and M Tech in Aeronautical Engineering and Engineering Analysis & Design has been appointed for the program. In addition the class – room contact hours regular guest lectures are arranged in which experts from industry share their experiences and highlight the emerging trends, opportunities and challenges ahead.

Also, from the academic year 2007 – 08 onwards the College is offering BE Degree course in Aeronautical Engineering with an approved intake of 60 students. Currently, the first batch of undergraduate students is in the sixth semester.

The department is well equipped with state of the art lab facilities, including a low speed wind tunnel and modern structural test facilities to cater for the needs of the students.

MVJ College of Engineering enjoys the envious status of being the only Engineering College affiliated to VTU offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Aeronautical Engineering.
