The existing risk at the exploratory phase is related to the great number of variables involved on the search for hydrocarbons, such as: uncertainties of the geological features and high volatility of oil prices. For the Oil & Gas industry, techno managerial progress is an incremental process involving consistent investment and the application of scientific, engineering and managerial expertise over sustained periods of time and in the end, this evolutionary process can have revolutionary results that dramatically improve our energy future.
