Engineering Optics deals with the emerging aspect of optics and its main emphasis is on applying the knowledge of optics to the solution of problems of Opto-Electronics. Specially, after the advent of lasers and Nano-Optics, optical engineering has emerged as multidisciplinary subject of great breadth and richness attracting the interest of scientists, technologists and industrialists due to its manifold scientific and technological applications. It is worth-mentioning that in our country, the number of postgraduate programmes on modern optics are a few, and in Haryana state, none of institutes and universities has M.Tech programme on Optical Engineering and Opto-Electronics. Looking at this gap, it sounds reasonably good to commence a post graduate programme such as M.Tech Optical Engineering to fulfill the rapidly growing demands of this course in scientific, technological, defence as well as industry communities.
