Description
Mandsaur Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in the city of Mandsaur in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India in the year 1996. MIT is managed by a Board of Governors with Mr. Narendra Nahata as its chairman. Shri Narendra Nahata is an ex-cabinet minister of Government of Madhya Pradesh and is credited to give new dimensions to technical education in Madhya Pradesh.
The Institute runs Under Graduate engineering courses approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi (Statutory body of Government of India) and Department of Technical Education (DTE), Bhopal, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The Institute is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.
The campus of MIT is located on State Express Highway about 3 Kms. from the centre of Mandsaur city. The Institute has fully developed infrastructure facilities with qualified teaching faculty in all branches with industrial exposure.
The Institute started with engineering degree courses in Mechanical, Computer Science and Electronics & Telecommunication with intake of 60 in each stream, total 180 in the year 1996. The AICTE granted addition of more courses (One) in Information Technology with an intake of 40 students in the year 1999. Further in the year 2000 AICTE granted an increase in intake in Computer Science and IT for 30 and 20 students respectively thus bringing the total intake of the Institute to 270 students.
