The department of Computer science and Engineering was established in 2001, has been instrumental in moulding and refining the students as good professionals in this competitive world.
The department offers the B.Tech Degree course with an intake of 120 students. At present the department has 22 faculty members headed by Professor V. Chandra-Sekhar. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty with 2 professors, 4 Associate Professors, 14 Assistant Professors as a Team of dynamic staff which has proven research capabilities at National and International conferences / Seminars / Workshops and Research Journals.
The department laboratories are maintaining good standards of latest configured systems like P-IV 3.0 GHz, 512 MB DDR, 80 GB HDD. The college has setup 7 separate computer laboratories with a total number of 350 systems and each lab is spread in an area about 2600 Sq.ft.
The college is developing computer labs with a motto of " One student - One System".
As per the norms of AICTE / JNTU the following labs have been setup.
All Labs are fully Air Conditioned and equipped with modern furniture. The department library consists of (142) Titles with (265) volumes for references by students and staff. The department Library also has National, International magazines and Journals.
The engineering students from all over India are invited to exhibit their talents participating in various competitions, viz. Technical paper presentation, Project exhibition, Technical quiz, Computer programming, Technical meet, Alumni meet and so on.
The faculty and the students are provided opportunities to enhance their skills by involving in Paper Presentations, workshops and conferences. Right from second year onwards there will be Training and Placement classes and GATE coaching classes. The department has a culture to arrange guest lecturers, Industrial visits and sponsored projects to bridge the gap between industry and Institution.
The main objective of the department is to provide technically sound man power to meet the requirement of IT Industries and R& D establishment both in India and abroad.
The staff and student is of the department actively involve is NSS Unit of the college. It was a strength of 300 volunteers and conducts various social service activities (like Blood Donation camp, Shramadhaanam and Clean & Green. Etc.)
