Mass Media are pervasive in modern life. Through mass media, we learn almost everything we know about the world beyond our immediate environs. An informed and involved citizenry is possible in modern democracy only when the mass media work well. People need the mass media to express their ideas widely. Without mass media, our expression would be limited to people within earshot and to whom we write letter.
Messages through mass media bind people into communities, even into nations too. And there is no second say that Electronic media, especially Television, has emerged as the most potent of all the mass media. In a remarkable span of time television has become the most popular medium for entertainment and for news. Today, television has become so central in modern culture that it is almost impossible for anyone looking at society to ignore it.
