Event Management-

Have you ever wanted to know what it takes to pull-off a major event like a concert, a festival, a fair, a trade show ...or even the Olympics? We hope to introduce you to the many facets of managing an event - from marketing and ticketing, to operations and evaluation. You will learn the importance of planning, budgeting, and customer service. The objective is to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the specialized field of "event management" and to become familiar with management techniques and strategies required for successful planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of events.

6. Public Relations

The course will introduce the student to the basic elements and principles of public relations. A variety of facets will be explored including the ethics and legal considerations. Students will acquire knowledge about a variety of theories and paradigms of effective public relations. More specifically, they will learn to develop market surveys, write news releases, produce public service announcements, conduct news conferences, and design web pages.

7. Media Management

This is a course that focuses on media management. Emphasis is on the production, content, and distribution aspects of media, and, of course, the way in which revenues and profits are achieved. We will also talk about media regulation and the possible "effects" of media on individuals and society.

8. Advertising

Although advertising is an accepted part of every day life, there is still great debate as to how advertising works and the role it can and should perform within the marketing communication mix. This module enables students to review this debate and learn how to put together an effective advertising plan.
