The Department of Management Studies is a prestigious wing of the St. Peter's Engineering College has the pride of being an excellent business school in imparting business education successfully for last ten years. It is one of the widely known departments which has been accredited by the NBA, New Delhi in the year 2004.

As a well-Known business school, it is committed to impart high quality job-oriented and Industry focused management education to develop the students as competent corporate citizens. The sole objective of the department is to hone men and women with competence, Versatility, enterprise, Problem solving Ability and Strategic perspectives to the leadership of business.

Computer Lab
The MBA programme offered by the department has the state of-the-art computer lab with a specialized software setup which includes the latest versions of MS-Office, Oracle, MS Project, Tally, TORA, SPSS package, etc.

Mandatory Profile

Group Learning

The students are clubbed under various syndicates and enable them to have a free exchange of ideas. This encourages group discussions, virtues of self-study and to develop communication skills.

Guest Lectures
Guest Lectures are being arranged periodically to enable the students to gather valuable nuggets of information from leaders of business and industry. This helps the budding managers to have an insight into the challenges and dynamics in the corporate sector.

Twenty four students of information technology are pursuing their higher studies in the renowned universities of USA, UK, Australia and Germany.

All passed out students of Information Technology have got placement and many in top ranking IT organizations like INFOSYS, Wipro, TCS, Oracle, IBM, Polaris, HCL and CTS. Nine of our final year students are recruited in IT companies through our campus recruitment programme.

In-House Magazine
Besides providing in-depth Exercise to improve the curricular development, the department is extending enough encouragement to students to improve extra-curricular activities as well. On account of such an impetus, the students bring out an in-house magazine called "FOCUS" every semester which inculcates in the minds of students the original thinking and intellectual acumen.
Seminars, symposia and management week are regularly organized by the department with the help of industry leaders which expands the horizon of knowledge and give the much needed inputs to the students.

Industrial visits
In order to provide a practical exposure and orientation to the learning process and help the students understand the subject to greater depths, the department organizes a number of industrial visits.

Academic Achievements
The department is producing consistently good results. It is adjudged as Second best amongst all colleges affiliated to Anna University during 2002-2003.Our Students Secured University First Rank and Gold Medal and 12th Rank in the Anna University Examinations in April/May 2004.

Corporate Relations and Placements
The Placement Cell coordinated by the faculty-in-charge is bringing together corporate luminaries and the student community in stimulating mutually beneficial interactions for achieving 100% placement

Entrepreneurship Development cell
An Entrepreneurship Development cell has been functioning successfully with the prime objective of providing necessary inputs and training to the budding business graduates to acquire the entrepreneurial spirit and skill.
