MD Biochemistry

The course was set up in Dec 2001 at the inception of the Vardhman Mahavir Medical College. It is involved in the teaching of MBBS students. The first batch of MBBS students joined in Feb 2002. Since then the department has taught five batches of 1st Professional MBBS students. The current batch is the 6th batch. The teaching involves over 500 hours per year and includes lectures, tutorials, practical, demonstrations, problem based learning, student seminars and day-to-day evaluation. Many students have achieved distinctions during the university examination. The post graduate MD Biochemistry course is to be started soon. The department has two posts of senior residents and four technicians.

The department is also teaching MLT students and BSc. Nursing students.
