P.HD IN PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY:TOXICOLOGY

BCP was founded in 1957 by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association- Maharashtra State Branch (IPA-MSB) with financial assistance from Government of Maharashtra and several pharmaceutical corporations.

Since its inception as a college offering Diploma in Pharmacy, the college has grown in stature and at present offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate & Doctoral programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

This department is involved in research encompassing screening and evaluation of synthetic drugs as well as phytochemicals, chronopharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Sponsored projects from the industry include pharmacological activity evaluation, bioavailability testing, bio-equivalence testing, acute and subacute toxicity testing, invasive and non-invasive evaluation of drugs and phytochemicals and bioassay for immunomodulatory activity. The Department is equipped with a laser doppler flowmeter, plethysmometer, rotarod polyrite recorder and other instruments for evaluating CNS activities.
