The two-year programme is spread over 4 semesters. Each academic year begins in July and ends in April. A year is divided into two semesters of about twenty weeks each. The students have to undergo summer training for a period of 8 to 10 weeks at the end of first year.
During the first year, a student has to go through 16 courses drawn from basic disciplines and functions of management. In the second year, 25 courses are offered including Integrative and Elective courses spread over Semesters III and IV. Out of these courses, the students can select minimum 5 courses in Functional Electives and 2 courses in other electives, besides 4 Integrative courses. They also carry out an individual study (Grand Project) during the year. Students are free to take more than the minimum requirements and can also have cross selection in the functional areas. A student may specialize in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Manufacturing or Information Management depending upon the availability of faculty and students enrolled.
