Periodontics has assumed an important role in the day-to-day activity of dental practice. One of our goals as educators is to train students to use their knowledge and skills in periodontics to improve the oral health of their patients. This department is fully equipped with sophisticated ultramodern gadgets like electronic programmable dental chairs, instant sterilizers, for taking care of the supporting tissues of the teeth like gums, ligaments and the sustaining structures. All of our faculty remain current in latest techniques of treatment and train the students in the various diagnostic problems and treatment of difficult cases. Our common viewpoint of periodontal management centers on disease control and therefore, emphasizes a through patient work-up, individual tooth diagnosis and problem-oriented treatment planning. Patient motivation toward daily hygiene, extensive pre-surgical treatment and a careful pre-surgical reevaluation are the essential skills obtained by the students for a successful case management. This department is also offering postgraduate course in Periodontics.
