The University of Delhi offers Ph.D. in Comparative Indian Literature course to its students. It is offered by the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies and under the Faculty of ARTS.

The Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi since its inception in 1960 is in a position to play a role model in creating a unique center for the study of Indian languages, literature and culture. Through different activities, the Department has succeeded in creating a separate identity by promoting the literary studies in a way of understanding the mosaic form of Indian culture, which has direct implications on the pluralistic nature of Indian languages, literature and culture.
