The University of Delhi offers Ph.D. in Geology course to its students.

It is offered by the Department of Geology and under the Faculty of SOCIAL SCIENCES.

The Department is fairly well equipped; all major equipments are available for research and teaching purposes. The equipments available are Perkin Elmer Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (with graphite furnace), Phillips X-ray Diffractometer, Leitz Orthoplan and Zeiss Universal transmitted and reflected light microscopes, Wild M8 microscope, Cathodoluminescence equipment, Carbon and sulfur analyzer, Jeol Table model Scanning Electron microscope, Linkam TH600 Heating-Freezing stage on Leica DMLP microscope, Mineral separation and section cutting equipments, Server and computers, including latest Remote sensing and GIS softwares.
