The Department also offers Ph.D programs in different specializations of the Mechanical Engineering. The research activities of the department involve areas like condition monitoring, nanotechnology, composite materials.

The duration for Ph.D. programmes is three years for full time scholars and four years respectively for part time scholars.

Ph.D students have to undergo a course work and they must pass through pre Ph.D examination and submit their thesis / dissertation before the stipulated period. The candidate should give a seminar on the research topic after obtaining positive response from the adjudicators.
