Course programme

The department is involved in the diversified activities, including active involvement in industrial research projects. The key areas of research are:

* Physico-chemical characterization of new chemical entities
* Forced degradation (stress testing) and stability kinetics studies
* Preformualtion studies
* Validated analytical method development including stability-indicating assays
* Accelerated stability testing
* Impurity profiling of drug substances
* Preparation of degradation product standards
* Establishment of intrinsic stability and stability-indicating assays (Funded by various pharmaceutical industries)
* Preparation and identification of various degradation products (Nimesulide, Famotidine, Ranitidine, Rifampicin, Clarithromycin, Ornidazole, Nifedipine, Captopril and Clonazepam)
* Impurity profiling studies: Determination of levels of individual and total impurities (Cephradine, Cephalexin, Clarithromycin, Rifampicin, Acylovir, Fluconazole, Doxorubicin, Daunomycin and Amoxycillin Trihydrate)
* Physicochemical aspects of antitubercular FDCs
* Study of the crosslinking behavior of gelatin
* Stability studies of drugs under accelerated conditions in the presence of light as compared to dark conditions
* Preparation of impurity standards
