An applicant for admission to the Ph.D. programme of this Institute shall possess, normally, an M.Phil./Master’s degree in the concerned subject with a minimum of 60% marks (55% in caseof Full-Time Sponsored candidates with a minimum of three years professional experience, and SC/ST candidates) at Master’s level or an M.Phil./Master’s Degree.
The Institute offers Phd. in Biomedical instrumentation. Faculty members of the Department participate in collaborative research work in different areas of Biomedical Engineering with the School of Biomedical Engineering and Department of Electronics Engineering, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India). Emphasis has also been laid on the application of soft computing such as artificial neural network, fuzzy logic genetic algorithm etc. for the processing and expert computerized classification of different biosignals.
