Course programme
The on-going structural changes in the economy have resulted in major shifts in the Indian agricultural scenario. The primacy of subsistence orientation is yielding place to commercialisation, opening up vast opportunities for value addition, packaging and exports of agricultural products, with strikingly high levels of technology. The policies of globalisation have taken Indian agriculture into the global village, opening up unprecedented opportunities as well as great challenges. These and other concomitant forces of change are placing significant demands for managerial skills in the Agri-Business sector. The course module is divided into VII trimesters covering 117 credit load including one trimester for summer internship during which the students undergo an assignment given by agribusiness companies. The academic curriculum covers 39 subjects broadly distributed into basic, functional, sectoral and general courses during the period of two years. In addition, the students also participate in live-projects assigned to the institute along with faculty members during their stay in the institute.
