Analytical Techniques play a crucial role in chemical and physical analysis of materials in every modem laboratory. They cover an exhaustive range of applications, which are further expanding with developments in instrumentation technology. The fields of the applications include academic and research institutes, R & D and QC laboratories of industries, pollution and drug testing laboratories, institutes of basic research and many more.

In the last decade the growth & diversity of analytical instruments is spearheaded by the vast pharmaceutical, chemical industries demanding range of highly reliable systems conforming to stringent regulatory requirements. The sheer volume of instrumentation in industrial sector has catapulted and capabilities hitherto uncommon to most users.

The scope for application and complexity of the current analytical instruments call for thorough knowledge of the basic techniques of analysis. The senior management of particularly the R & D and QC laboratories in industries is finding it difficulty to train and continually update the laboratory personnel. In fact it is a common observation that the fresh university graduates have little practical knowledge or experience about the Instrumentation and their applications though they have elementary theoretical background covered in the curriculum. This necessitates their re-orientation and training for taking up laboratory functions.

We have noted this demand and proposed to commence a Post - Graduate course in analytical instrumentation and techniques which would ideally satisfy these requirements.
