Course programme

The Masters -FM program was launched in 2004 to fulfill the demand for individuals having far superior knowledge about Financial Markets than those coming out of other regular Business Schools. Inspired by such stalwart institutions such as the International Securities Markets Association Center (ISMA) at the University of Reading and the New York Institute of Finance, ITM Institute of Financial Markets has created a technologically advanced, information-rich and knowledge focused environment for the delivery of this program:

Program Objectives

* To expose participants to Financial Markets both in India and abroad.
* To enable participants to develop a framework for fundamental & technical analysis, to evaluate alternative investment avenues and maximize returns with minimum risks.
* To give extensive exposure to emerging areas like Equity & Debt, Research, Scientific Asset Allocation Process, Portfolio Hedging & Forex Trading.

Course Schedule

The PGDM: FM program delivers a total of 33 courses, spread over 7 Academic terms, in addition to one summer project and a Capstone project. The syllabus begins with a grounding in the basics of Management, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics and Communication Skills and moves onto advanced studies in Financial Accounting, Mathematics and Statistics; Equity, Debt, Money, Derivates, Commodity and Forex Markets; Corporate Finance, Fundamental and Technical Analysis & Charting and Trading Operations. In the last two terms, the syllabus covers Global Financial Markets, Portfolio Management, International Finance, International Law, Financial Engineering and Financial Innovation and many more. Internship/ Project

The aim of the internship is to give participants of the program opportunity to apply their Financial Market knowledge in a practical context through researching, reporting and presenting on a project chosen in conjunction with their supervisors and sponsoring organization(s).
