Post Graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English

The English and Foreign Languages University offers Post Graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English course to its students. The course structure for it is as follows:

This programme will be useful for you

a. if you are a teacher of English (primary, secondary or tertiary level) and wish to update your knowledge of recent trends in English Language Teaching.
OR
b. if you have an M. A. in the relevant subject* and wish to become a teacher of English.

This course gives you not only theoretical knowledge about teaching English, but also provides hands-on experience in using this knowledge in the classroom. During your two semesters with us, we will hone your speaking and writing skills in English.

The UGC has recognized the PGDTE as equivalent to two Refresher Courses for purposes of the Career Advancement Scheme.
Admission is through an entrance test, which will examine your English language proficiency and aptitude for teaching English.
