However, even today, many professionals from the fields of architecture, engineering, design and construction apply accessibility criteria as a compulsory imposition of the rules, often only added "a posteriori" to the general criteria of the original design. This is done without comprehending the benefits these spaces, itineraries, items, services or products which we all use will provide if they are also accessible to people with reduced mobility or communication skills.

About this course
This postgraduate course is an opportunity to discover the fact that "accessibility is not only a requirement for people with disabilities, but also benefits all citizens." It seeks to address accessibility from the beginning of the project, in an inconspicuous way and at little or no cost once it is incorporated into the original design solutions.

The classes combine theory and practice. The course is based on synchronous work sessions over the Internet through a virtual interactive system which is theoretical and practical, and discusses the various types of pre-defined material in the programme. The material will be used to learn the theory with professionals who have proven their experience over many years in this field. Case studies will be discussed in relation to issues that have been resolved in the daily exercise of their profession. We will analyse case studies that help to contextualise the concepts covered in each subject
