RedBoxx- I is a Super Skill Specialization Diploma in 3D Animation and Visual Effects. It is a highly innovative animation and visual effects diploma and introduces skills specialization which are the need of the hour in the industry. The program is devised in a unique high end programme that turns a talented student into a highly skilled artist proficient in the skill set of his choice which multiplies his/her job opportunities. Following are the areas of specialisation depending upon the students' choice: CG Asset Creation : This involves the following skills : i. Modeling The process of constructing complex organic or inorganic geometries in a 3D Application for use as Characters and Environments. This may follow digital sculpting and integration for creating highly detailed geometries. ii. Texturing This process involves preparing a geometry for shading/texturing and creating photorealistic and/or hand painted textures iii. Lighting/Rendering A lighting artist should be able to set the mood and feel of a scene using traditional CG lighting techniques and should have additional knowledge of a Global Illumination based renderer and shaders. B. Character Animation : This involves the following skills : i. Rigging This process involves creating interactive animation rigs for a variety of situations which would simplify the task of animation for the animator. Knowledge of scripting is important. ii. Character Animation This process involves mastering the mechanics of animation and infusing life into a character. The artist must be able to animate style and create unique personalities. C. Visual Effects and Post Artist : This involves the following skills : i. Matte Painting Creation This process involves manipulating photographs and painting elements so as to make a seamless rendering to be used as a background and /or element in a visual effects shot. ii. Dynamics Artist A Dynamics artist would create particle and dynamics based effects in a 3D Application. iii. Compositing This involves taking multiple elements such as Matte Paintings, Dynamics Effects, Live Action and CG Elements and seamlessly blending them into a seamless visual. This follows sweetening the visuals using a variety of techniques so as to create a photo finish visual. iv. Matchmoving This process involves extracting camera motion and data from a live action shot and using it in 3D to create elements which match up in visual to the live action shot.
