Established on 1st May, 1983, the auspicious Maharashtra Day & Worker’s Day. This University geographically covers the western Vidarbha belt (i.e., five districts – Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Washim) of Maharashtra State. The University, in its small span of two decades, has contributed in many ways for economic, social and cultural upliftment of the society by offering quality education.
At the same time, the University has remained well aware of its role as a “thought leader” in the region. It has always played a pivotal role in addressing every issue of significance for the region, be it the dissemination of the Ten Commandments of Sant Gadge Baba or the vexed problem of farmers suicide in Vidarbha.
In the coming years, the University proposes to tap the technological advancement of the information age to provide the latest and the best resources of learning while making it more and more accessible and equitable.
I have great pleasure in presenting this brief information about the Departments in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.
