In 1964, Coimbatore Welfare Association (CWA), a charitable and philanthropic body was established to spread the light of knowledge. Its mission is to provide quality education to all. CWA started Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in 1964. To reach highest levels, exactly 25 years later, Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College was started in a sprawling 50 acres site at Shri Gambhirmal Bafna Nagar at Malumachampatti, Coimbatore. The sprawling campus houses buildings with architectural grandeur, Hanuman temple, separate, homely hostels for boys and girls, Staff Quarters, well-maintained mess and canteen. SNMV College of Arts and Science is not only known for its architectural excellence but also for its academic achievements. It is approved by the Tamil Nadu Government and affiliated to Bharathiar University.
