The Sri Sai College of Dental Surgery & Hospital, Vikarabad was started in 2001 under the aegis of Balaji Educational Society as a center of excellence for Dental Education, for the people of India. The college is affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences and is recognised by the Dental Council of India.

Vikarabad was chosen as the location for the institution as it would benefit a vast rural population that did not have access to dental treatment.

The college had a modest beginning with 60 students and housed in a small place at the foot hills of the Vikarabad. Within few years, the undergraduate intake was upgraded to 100 and the college was recognized by the Dental Council of India in 2005. By then, the institution was upgraded with full fledge Dental & Medical departments with over 300 dental chairs and units. The institution extends the service to the rural and poor population by having satellite clinics at Tandoor, Andhra Pradesh, with its fully equipped preventive and Community Dentistry Department.

Clear cut and phased development have seen major advances being made every year. In the year 2006 the post graduate training in various dental specialities was started with the approval of DCI. The progress just did not stop here. This institution was selected as the one of centers in the country approved by Boston University for Research in the year 2006.
