Being affiliated to the Anna University, The Electronics and Communication department of the Panimalar Engineering College follows the courses and syllabus prescribed by Anna University which focuses on the following main stream topics:
basic electronics, devices, circuits,
analog and digital communication concepts,
concept of electromagnetic field and their application,
linear and digital ICs,
computer fundamentals on hardware and software,
engineering mathematics,
and random process.
Infrastructure:
The Electronics and Communication department has total of 15,000 sq. ft. of well equipped laboratories. It also has a R&D center enabling the students to apply and verify the fundamentals that they have learned at the classrooms.
There are separate labs for each of the semesters that include
Electronic Devices & Circuits Lab (III & IV Semester)
Electronic Devices
Basic Analog and Digital Circuits
Network Filters
Amplifiers, Oscillators
Operational Amplifiers Comparators
Digital Communication Lab (V Semester)
Sampling & Reconstruction, PCM, Shift keying, multiplexing, modulation generation.
MICRO PROCESSOR LAB (VI Semester)
Assembly Language and Machine Language Programming of processors 8080, 8086 and
8051 micro controllers.
SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB (V Semester)
Filter design using MAT Lab, implementation of filters in DSP processor TMS series and ADSPZIXX.
MICROWAVE LAB (VII Semester)
Micro Wave Devices characteristics, radiation pattern and DI electric constant measurements,
optical fibre characteristics, loss measurement, modeling laser diodes
RF Laboratory (VII Semester)
Design of different types of antennas, study of radiation pattern of antennas, modern antennas.
