The APPM program is ideally suited for Project Managers and Project Leaders with at least 4-5 years of work experience in a project environment.
Middle and Senior level executives responsible for managing change and new initiatives are also eligible.

The APPM program is a competency enhancement certification aimed at delivering real value to organizations by enabling participants to implement the domain knowledge disseminated.

The APPM program incorporates the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) methodology, adheres to global approaches and dwells into real world issues.
It involves rigorous self-study, implementation and continuous evaluation of performance through assignments, submissions, class preparation and participation.
The program is scheduled over 4 months. The first module, Project Management: Principles & Framework is conducted from Monday to Friday. The remaining 3 modules are held in a three or four day period every alternate month.
The PMP® based exam is held over 3 days.
Participants are required to present a dissertation outlining the implementation of tools, techniques and systems learned.
A composite score of a minimum 60% mark is mandatory for certification. Participants are rated for the written exam, dissertation report and viva, in-class participation and case analysis, online preparation and quizzes.
-Modules:
Module 1: Principles & Framework program
This module covers the overall Project Management perspective along with processes and knowledge areas. It is essentially based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) propounded by Project Management Institute, U.S.A. and is a recommended module for PMP® certification.
Duration:
5 days.
Objectives:
Establish a global framework based on understanding of PM terms and concepts Understand the purpose, inputs, outputs and tools and techniques of PM processes and knowledge areas Get insights into participant's areas of PM knowledge and interpersonal skills strength and gaps based on projects and organizational environment
Module 2: Leadership Teamwork & Communication
The module assesses the project leadership of the participants; helps them with development of general management skills in team development, communication and negotiation.

3 days.

Understand challenges of the leadership role in Project Management and organizations Gain insights in managing people and on performance issues Develop introspective insights for self-development through self-assessment exercises Develop effective and efficient communication Negotiation of contract terms for scope, cost and schedule
Module 3: Cost & Risk Management and Control
The module offers an integrated approach to project selection, management of cost and risk issues during the project life cycle using modern tools and techniques.

Understand and apply modern project cost management techniques like cost estimation and budgeting Develop an integrated approach for monitoring and controlling project cost and schedule using Earned Value Management techniques Understand project risk management concepts; develop ability to identify, analyze and assess risk impact Prepare project risk monitoring, mitigation and control plans
Module 4: Managing Projects using CCPM & Microsoft Project
This module covers practical issues in planning and scheduling based on Dr. Goldratt's Theory of Constraints, Application of Critical Chain Project Management. It also covers comprehensive mapping of PM processes to Microsoft Project for advanced planning and control.
