College of Commerce
The College of Commerce, Alliance University offers degree programs, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels that seeks to build and nurture graduates equipped with strong academic skills and expertise in commerce, finance, taxation, accountancy, and other related disciplines of business studies. The innovatively-crafted programs of the College also instill in graduates a high-level of integrity and professionalism, while preparing them for rewarding and fulfilling careers in banking, insurance, auditing, taxation, and business and management. The classes for the programs are held at the City Campus; however, students can also use the facilities available at the Central Campus.
The College of Commerce offers two post graduate programs during the academic year 2011-12:


Master of Financial Management (MFM)
(Full-time, two-year program)

The fast growing and dynamic world of financial services along with India's potential to become the hub of the global financial services industry necessitates the grooming of skilled professionals on an unprecedented scale. As the financial services sector moves up the value chain and becomes more complex and sophisticated, there is a need to develop a critical mass of specialists with cutting edge knowledge and capabilities to support the long term growth of this service industry sector. To meet the demand for such specialized skills, there is an urgent need on the part of universities and institutions of higher learning to offer specialized post graduate programs in finance. Master of Financial Management is a multi-disciplinary program that covers all areas of study related to the financial services industry. Graduates in the program will study subjects such as accounting, finance, and mathematics and computer technology with a practical orientation to solve problems in finance. The domain knowledge acquired by graduates in the MFM program includes expertise in portfolio management, financial product development, risk analyses, and hedging. The objective of the program is to prepare professionals for highly challenging careers in investment banking, wealth management, insurance, pension funds, financial services, and risk management.

Eligibility:
B.Com/BBM/B.Sc./BE/BBA from any recognized university with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate.

Master of Commerce (M.Com.)
(Full-time, two-year program)
Master of Commerce is a two-year, four-semester academic program that provides an opportunity for graduates to acquire theoretical as well as practical inputs relating to the various segments of commerce. The program would also make an attempt to discuss various contemporary issues both from the national as well as the international perspective. The program covers the basic as well as advanced subjects in the area of commerce such as accounting theory, financial management, financial services, taxation policy, and e-commerce. The curriculum also covers subjects such as statistics for business decisions, human resource management, and organizational behavior. A Master’s graduate in commerce has the advantage of entering a career either in academics, research, or other areas of commerce and finance such as taxation, consultancy, and financial services.
