Enterprise Resource Planning
Basics of planning and control: Planning process, premises, types of plan, control, controlling techniques, planning and controlling relation and related issues.
Inventory systems: Definition, types, economics of inventory, inventory costs, brief review of history of inventory management, concepts and limitations of economic order quantity (EOQ), material requirement planning (MRP), master production schedule, bill of materials, manufacturing resource planning (MRPII) concepts.
Enterprise resource planning: Overview, benefits, enterprise system architecture, building systems for modern enterprises, business process reengineering, concepts and tools, BPR and ERP
Supply chain management: Concepts and structure, SCM and ERP, brief introduction to data warehousing, data mining, online analytical processing (OLAP), evaluation of an ERP package, selection issues.
Implementation: Lifecycle, methodologies, issues related to implementation, people in implementation and non-implementation roles
Business modules in an ERP package: Finance, manufacturing, human resource, maintenance, materials management, quality management, sales and distribution, production planning & control.
