Training of persons intending to accept teaching as a profession is inevitable as the destiny and prosperity of the nations lie in the type of education imparted to the new generation. Their quality therefore, is of vital importance. They need to develop several personal qualities as well as professional skills to do their job effectively. These qualities and skills cannot be developed by any one on their own. They need to be trained. The pre-service training is meant to provide them with the license required for taking up job as teachers. A number of modalities such as seminars, workshops etc. are being used for the purpose of providing required knowledge, competencies and attitudes needed for carrying out instruction in accordance with the needs of the time.

Pre-service training generally refers to academic terms of study in under graduate's level situation with a period of education, generally lasting for a year. It consists of combined or alternative studies of the theory and practice of teaching with elements of psychology, educational Philosophy and sociology of education and some helpful instruction about teaching of certain specific subjects. In short, this phase of training exposes the trainees to psychological, sociological, philosophical and technological aspects and principles related to education. It develops with a basic insight into the professional and some key skills required for various teaching tasks.
Anjuman Hami-E-Muslimeen, pioneer educational institution of North Kanara District, has been issued a No-objection certificate by the Government of Karnataka in September 2007 for establishing a college for Pre-service training of graduates (i.e. B.Ed.). The National Council for Teacher Training is considered its recognition. A team of the said council visited our College and assessed the infrastructural facilities available with the management as well as the man power. Based on the recognition by the said council, Anjuman College of Education is expected to start functioning. The Karnataka University, Dharwad, has sanctioned its affiliation. The course will commence form 1st Jan 2008 as per Karnataka University Schedule.
