B.A. (Hons.) in Economics

Economics is the main subject to be studied alongwith the concurrent courses.

Admission to the B.A. (Hons.) Course in Economics will be based on merit determined according to the average percentage secured in the Class XII Examination in either of the following three categories of combination of four subjects*:

Category A: One Language, Mathematics/Business Mathematics, plus any two of the following subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Commerce (Business Studies).

Category B: One Language, Mathematics/Business Mathematics, plus any two of the following subjects: Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Mechanical Drawing (Engineering or Technical).

Category C: One Language, Mathematics/Business Mathematics, plus any two of the following subjects: Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, Psychology, Philosophy.

* The cut-off for respective Categories will be intimated at the time of admission.
* All four subjects shall be given equal weightage in determining a candidate's average percentage.
* A candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in English in the Class XII Examination to be eligible for admission.
* The One Language that shall be considered would ordinarily be English or Hindi (Official Indian Languages of different states other than Hindi may be considered in cases where the candidate has studied the other language in Class X and Class XII).
