In order to bridge the gap between the ever increasing demands of Ayurved practitioners in rural areas and wide spread chronic diseases and diseases and problems, Prakash Shikshan Prasarak Mandal established the 'Loknete Rajarambapu Patil Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Islampur in 2002, with intake of 50 students per year.
Islampur town is the central place from the cities like Kolhapur (40 kms), Karad (26 kms) and District Head quarter Sangli (40 kms). Attached with mega high-way(N.H.4). All the 3 cities having Domestic Air port.

The College has well equipped departments of Sanskrit Samhita Sidhant, Rachana Sharir, Kriya Sharir, Dravaguna, Rasshastra and B.K., Rognidan, Swasthvritta, Agadtantra and Vidhi Ayurved, Prasutitantra and Striroga, Kaumar Bhritya, Kayachikitsa, Shalyatantra, Shalakyatantra, Panchakarma.
Adequate Ayurved Laboratory facilities are provided for training of Undergraduate and also for undertaking research. College also provides extension OPD services to hereby villages, which are also attended by the students and intern under supervision of senior staff.
College has a teaching hospital with all Specialties of Ayurved treatment which provides routine and specialized diagnostic procedures including advanced Panchakarma treatments.
