This college is situated at maihar which is a famous religious and industrial place. It is just three kms away from Maihar Railway Stationand is nicely connected with Maihar-Satna Road. It is ensconced in the idyllic environs of villaancege Umari Paila. The famous Oila Ashram of Swami Neelkanth Maharaj lies in its vicinity. The Tample of Maasharda Devi and the immense contribution of music maestro Ustad BabaAllaudin Khan have turned Maihar into a place of international importance.

This college was established in the year 1972 and was subsequently made a Govt. College in 1986. In 1995 post gradute classes in arts, science ana commerce faculty were started and proved tremendously beneficial to students. It is affilited to A.P.S. University, Rewa and is the preferred exam center for different university examinations. It is reconized under section 12b of UGC act and hence has been receiving developmental grants for the last 13 years.
