B.Sc in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry is one of the largest departments in Mount Carmel College, offering seven courses in combination with Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Physics and Mathematics.
Since its inception in 1948, the Department of Chemistry has created well qualified, bright students who often go on to pursue careers in Science, making significant contributions in the field.
Since Mount Carmel College attained autonomy, the Department of Chemistry has built on the syllabus, increasing its relevance to industrial needs and building a strong foundation for further education. The changes also include innovations in teaching and assessment. The Department of Chemistry aims to produce a more socially aware and well-rounded Science graduate.
