B.Sc (HONOURS) Mathematics

Mathematics department of Jogesh Chandra College is one of the oldest department. Its history dates back as far as 1969. The college offers both B.A/B.Sc (Pass) courses. The college is affiliated from Calcutta University. Mathematics is treated as one of the compulsory subjects in B.Sc (Pass) course.

In 1999, the college obtained an extension of affiliation to honours course in Mathematics. At present, the strength of faculty members is five. For the last 30 years,
college has high percentage of students passing in B.Sc course with Mathematics as one of the main subjects.

Both the College and departmental library are stocked with valuable and essential books for students and teachers respectively. Special tests are organized for honours degree students.. The department also conducts seminars and students take part in it actively. The topic varies on different areas. Students and Teachers share a cordial relationship
