B.Sc. (Nutrition) - Stands for Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. Typically, B.Sc. Nutrition is a three year course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10+2) in science. Nutrition is a science that deals with composition as well as appropriate ratio of food to achieve proper nourishment for a human body. Subjects studied under this degree are biochemistry, physiology, food science and genetics.
Nutrition is the provision, to cells and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life. Many common health problems can be prevented or alleviated with good nutrition.
Nutritional science investigates the metabolic and physiological responses of the body to diet. The course presents them with the relevant aspects of human nutrition, meal planning, economics, preparation,physiology, public health, biochemistry and psychology. Students can work as a Clinical dietician in private Clinics,Hospitals,Sports Clinic & Center.They can also open there own Clinic to provide advice as a Clinical dietician.

Nutritionist can be employed in various fields such as colleges, research institutes, schools, companies, private or govt hospitals, airlines, office cafeterias, yoga center, maternity, govt's health depts., athletes camps, mass media sector, etc, where their advice is required to promote eating healthy food. In addition, they can also work as private practitioner and private consultant. They work in places like health maintenance organizations, home health agencies, and public health clinics. Well experienced dietitians can opt as a director, associate or assistant of a dietetic dept or can also become a freelancer. Some dietitians are specialized in renal or paediatric dietetics areas.
