Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Charitable Trust was constituted with a dream to open an institute to provide the services of education and health to the society, working on the same lines a small health services unit at village Sarabha was started on about 4 acres of land donated by Late S. Mota Singh Grewal & family.
The foundation stone of the building was laid with the blessing of his holiness Baba Mihan Singh Ji . The Inauguration Ceremony was graced by two close revolutionary associates (of Shaheed Kartar Singh Saraba) Baba Arjun Singh,Jagraon and Baba Pirthi Singh Azad on 5th June ,1988.
Late S. Sukdev Singh Grewal was the Founder Chairman of the institution . Due to his illnees followed by his sad demise the institute had to face crisis. Then the other management members and the students requested S.Avtar Singh Grewal (canada) to hold the reins of the institution. S.Avtar Singh Grewal then graced the chairman's office on 13th june, 2002. The Institution owes a lot to him for generating maximum funds and becoming a driving force behind the development of the institution. As the honourable chairman needed an intelligent and honest person to share the responsibility he entrusted S. Inderjit Singh Grewal for the prestigious office of the general secretary-cum-adminsrator. S. Inderjit Grewal has the capability to convert the planning in to practical. His personality is a fine blend of Governance and Service. The duo of these two top office bearers brought the things on the right track again .Fortunately,a renowned NRI educationist S. Hoshiar Singh Grewal(of village Sarabha) & his family(UK & USA) joined the trust and donated generously in crores for the various projects like Girls hostel,Nursing institute, new wing of Ayurvedic college. He also contributed a lot for hospital equipments, purchasing more land for institution and so on. Recently S. Kewal Singh Grewal has donated 2.5 acres piece of prime land for the institute. Now the trust has a running group of medical institutes to its credit which has an Ayurvedic college with hospital, Dental College, School of nursing (G.N.M.) , College of Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing & B.Sc.(N) Post Basic) and a multi speciality allopathic hospital. Very soon M.Sc. Nursing will be started in this institute. This group of medical institutions is on the path of development with the help of a team of other hardworking members of the management with the active cooperation of NRI's, people of the belt, staff and students of the institutions.
