B.Sc in Physics

The Department of Physics was started in the year 2003 as a part of the self financed stream. The department now offers a 3 year B.Sc (Physics) degree program under choice based credit system. in the second year students have a choice to select either computer science or chemistry as an allied paper. Exposure to projects in the final year will pave way for students to bring in practical and theoretical knowledge which will be an added advantage.

With an increasingly knowledge based economy and the perennial need for qualified manpower in pure science in general and Physics in particular, there is a vast opportunity for physics graduates . Besides teaching career in schools and technical institutions, physics graduates can look forward to a fruitful career in Research & Development and in some sectors of the knowledge based new economy.
