B.Tech in Chemical engineering

The Department of Chemical engineering was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 60 students.

As this department has reached a status, it has applied for accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation.

Our department has well equipped state-of-the art laboratories.

Mechanical operations Lab, Heat Transfer Lab, Mass Transfer Lab, Chemical Reaction Engineering Lab, Process Dynamics Instrumentation and Control Lab, Technical Analysis Lab, Physical Chemistry Lab,Organic Chemistry Lab.

The Department is producing consistently good results in the University Examinations From Its Inception.

Our Students have secured several university ranks. The Department is encouraging students to conduct technical symposia and seminars. They organized a national level technical symposium
'REACTIONS 2003'. Chemical Engineering
Many of our students are continuing their higher education in various prime institutions like Anna University, Annamalai University, Alagappa University, Illinois institute of Technology, University of Chicago, University of California, University of Dortmund etc. One of our students has secured an all India rank of 6th place in Gate 2005 with a percentile of 99.90%.

Our Students are eligible for the following PG courses offered by various institutions.
Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Refining and Electrochemical Engineering, Plastic Technology, Polymer Science and Engineering.

After graduation, Chemical Engineering students can join in MRL, MFL, NTPC, NLC, Pollution Control Board, SPIC, Petrochemical, Sugar and Paper industries as Process Engineers and Design Engineers.
