BA (General) Sociology

Sociology department came into existence in 2002. Sri Tanmay Das joined the department as a teacher from the very beginning.
The college library is well equipped with necessary books. Presently the library has a total number of 50 books available on the subject.
Sociology(General) course was introduced in 2003-2004.
The department has maintained its reputation of high percentage of students passing every year with good marks.
The course,covers all the aspects of human society and related topics, extensively. One can opt for it after completing twelfth class.After completing BA (Hons) Sociology course, one can become community worker, housing manager, information scientist, journalist, lecturer, public sector administrator, social researcher, social worker, welfare advice worker etc.
Students actively take part in Seminars, Debates competitions etc organised by the department.
