BA in Journalism

Journalism is offered at Mount Carmel College under two possible combinations that interested candidates may choose from:

1. PyEJ - Psychology, English Literature and Journalism
2. HJTT - History, Journalism and Travel & Tourism

The course focuses on all the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that could train students to be a successful journalist. The syllabus is designed to address three fronts:

1. The historical and political background information that helps understand the world today
2. The theories of journalism
3. The ability to write well in English a manner that suits the Media (print and broadcast)

Practical skills are honed through projects like the wall newspaper, lab journals, radio & TV bulletins, morning news for the college, etc.
