Bachelor Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering(EVENING)

The Department was set up in 1971 leading to B.E (E&C) degree after noting the ever growing need and the need for manpower training in the field of Electronics and Communications. Over the years, the department has built up laboratories in the areas of Electronic devices and circuits, Digital and Logic Design, Microprocessors, Communications including Microwaves and Optical Communications, VHDL, Microcontrollers and VLSI. A Centre of Excellence for VLSI /ASIC Design and VHDL, funded by MHRD, has been established in 2004 - 05. Some major thrust areas of the future are Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing – Image Processing, VLSI Design and Microcontrollers. The department has a recognized Research centre approved by the VTU to pursue research work leading to PhD / M. Sc (Engg) degrees.
