Any candidate who has passed Degree examination of the Bangalore University or any other university recognised as equivalent there with 10+2+3 pattern obtaining at least 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects (45% in case of SC/ST and other categorized students) is eligible for admission to B.Ed. Degree course.

Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

Ramakrishna Education trust started the Bangalore City College of Education in 2004 to train students into becoming useful and effective teachers for secondary schools and award the B.Ed. Degree of Bangalore University. The college is situated in Chelekere in the trust integrated complex which houses other institutions and common facilities as well. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University and recognised by government of Karnataka and N.CT.E.

Duration of this course is one academic year out of which atleast 6 weeks will be for internship / practice teaching. The medium of Bangalore City College is English.

CITIZENSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME AND EXCURSIONS: An excursion of three to five days duration will be conducted for the benefit of the students as part of the training, each under Educational Excursion and Citizenship Training Camp.Places of educational, cultural and historical importance will be visited. The citizenship training programme aims at fostering the qualities of good citizenship, secular orientation, protection of composite culture, appreciation of our cultural heritage, promotion for national integration etc. The college extensively fosters activities which enable growth of these qualities in its students.
