Bachelors in Bio-Technology

Department of Biotechnology seeks to provide a responsive learning environment and creative thinking that enables all students to achieve their highest level of proficiency in their academic career. We are very proud to mention that within a span of 4 years the department has risen to obtain recognition by VTU as Research and Development Centre and is engaged in carrying out several innovative viable projects for students and consultancy projects. Department has a team of excellent and dedicated staff members who are specialized in various areas of life sciences. Faculty having industrial experience is instrumental in shaping student's competency for industrial recruitment. The sincere efforts put up by the faculty which aims at grooming the students for academic challenges, reflects in the outstanding performance of students in University examinations every semester.
Department periodically organizes Industrial visits and invitee lectures which help the students to understand industrial needs .This will help upcoming Biotech Engineers to pursue fruitful career in Biotech industry and in creating entrepreneurship awareness.
The department was granted the NBA-Accredited status with effect from 09.05.2009. The department has the following well equipped labs with latest facilities to suit the present need in Biotechnology.

The Department has organized a National conference on "Innovations and Emerging trends in Biotechnology" on April 2nd and 3rd 2009,which was well received amongst academicians & researchers.
